Maui Hudson affiliates to the Iwi of Te Whakatohea, Nga Ruahine, and Te Mahurehure. Maui is an interdisciplinary researcher based at the Faculty of Maori and Indigenous Studies at the University of Waikato. His research focuses on the application of mātauranga Māori (indigenous knowledge) to decision-making across a range of contemporary contexts from new technologies to health, the environment to innovation. He is working on projects exploring the interface of mātauranga Māori and science, the visualising of mātauranga Māori, the integration of mātauranga Māori within policy environments, and Māori data sovereignty.
