Alton Perrie

PhD Student

Alton Perrie is a PhD candidate (part-time) investigating trophic interactions between non-indigenous and indigenous fishes in shallow lakes and lagoons in the Wellington Region. He is particularly interested in non-indigenous fish impacts through competition and predation, and also how they might influence wider aspects of lake environments such as water and habitat quality. Alton completed his MSc at the University of Waikato in 2004, and since then he has been employed by the Greater Wellington Regional Council as a freshwater scientist. He continues to work part-time at the council while undertaking his PhD
