Chrissen's research mainly focuses on using genetic methods to understand evolutionary processes within endemic plant populations. This work is relevant to both the conservation and restoration of Aotearoa’s flora. One project specifically will look, from a genetic perspective, at the costs and benefits of eco-sourcing plant materials for restoration programs such as the work being carried out at Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park.
