Dr Konrad Górski

Konrad Gorski

Post-doctoral researcher

Konrad's work focuses on ecological modelling of the lower Waikato River. His work integrates (1) reconstruction of historical geo-morphological river-floodplain template, (2) modelling of transport and mixing of water within the river corridor, (3) modelling nutrient loads and phytoplankton responses in the lower Waikato River, and (4) evaluation of riverine and floodplain habitat use by various native fish species important for traditional and commercial fisheries. His research will provideminformation to assist management decisions and restoration approaches to enhance ecological function of the lower Waikato River. In his PhD research at Wageningen University (The Netherlands), he investigated flood pulse dynamics and its impact on fish recruitment in the Volga River (Russian Federation.
